OFFICE LIGHTING
Light that works for you
Lighting plays an essential role in office environments, directly impacting productivity, employee well-being, and the overall ambience of the workspace. Whether you're designing a home office or a commercial setting, the right lighting can enhance focus, reduce fatigue, and create a welcoming, efficient environment.

Light up your potential
The key to effective office lighting is a well-balanced approach that combines primary, task, and decorative lighting. This layering provides flexibility and ensures every corner of the workspace is adequately lit without creating glare or harsh shadows.

Primary lighting
Primary lighting provides overall illumination for the space. This layer of light ensures that the office is bright enough to navigate and work comfortably,
without causing eye strain.
It's recommended to choose a light source with a color temperature between 3000K - 2700K to achieve a comfortable and warm lighting that promotes productivity and comfort.
Whenever possible, maximize natural light by positioning desks near windows. Natural light has been shown to boost mood, increase productivity, and reduce eye strain.

Task lighting
Task lighting is essential in an office, providing focused light for activities that require attention to detail, such as reading, writing, or working on a computer. It helps reduce the contrast between bright screens and dark work areas, preventing eye fatigue.
Adjustable desk lamps are ideal for focused lighting. Look for lamps with dimming capabilities to control the intensity of the light as needed.

Mood-creating lighting
Decorative lighting helps create depth in office space. While its primary function isn’t to illuminate work areas, it adds warmth and character, contributing to a more pleasant atmosphere.
Wall lamps and spotlights can be a decorative touch while having a calming effect. Floor lamps can be used to brighten corners or create a cosy reading nook, offering a balance between task and primary lighting.

Lighting tip
With the right light comes well-being
Lighting can also have a direct impact on your well-being. Poor lighting can lead to headaches, fatigue, and eye strain, while well-designed lighting enhances comfort, improves mood, and boosts productivity.
In areas where focus and precision are critical, such as meeting rooms or task-heavy workspaces, consider using blue-enriched lighting during the day.
In break rooms or collaborative spaces, use warm white lighting (2700K-3000K) to create a cozy, relaxing atmosphere where employees can unwind and recharge.

Lighting tip
Light placement
The placement of office lighting is just as important as the type of lighting. Poorly positioned lights can cause glare, create unwanted shadows, or make screens difficult to read, all of which contribute to discomfort and reduced productivity.
Avoid overhead glare: Position overhead lights carefully to avoid glare on computer screens.
Desk lamp placement: Place desk lamps on the opposite side of your dominant hand to prevent casting shadows on your workspace.
Screen lighting: Ensure the light doesn’t directly shine on monitors, which can cause reflections and make it difficult to see. Angle desk lamps or overhead lights to provide indirect illumination.
