Lighting plays a central role in interior design in terms of functionality and atmosphere. It is essential to adapt lighting to different needs and moods throughout the day. All our luminaires can be integrated with lighting control systems, enabling the creation of the perfect lighting environment at any time.
Lighting control systems help optimize energy consumption, enhance efficiency, and create dynamic lighting environments that support both aesthetics and productivity.
Types of lighting control systems
Phase dimming (Triac / Trailing Edge)
Phase dimming, also known as Triac or Trailing Edge dimming, is a widely used technology compatible with most modern LED dimmers on the market. While Nuura cannot guarantee full compatibility between luminaires and dimmers, most solutions can be effectively dimmed:
Some systems allow dimming down to 0%.
Most systems dim to around 5–10%.
Certain systems may only dim down to 40%, while others may not function at all.
If compatibility issues arise, we recommend that customers select a suitable dimmer or select a model we can recommend. Most lighting control systems include a dimming module that supports phase dimming as a standard technology.
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface)
DALI is a well-established automation solution that integrates seamlessly with building management systems and is recognized by electricians. In many cases, programming the control system requires a specialist.
At Nuura, we offer DALI drivers upon request, allowing for precise dimming of our integrated LED luminaires. Additionally, we can provide DALI dimming modules, such as the HDD2200, which act as an interface between the customer’s DALI controller and our luminaires.
Advantages of DALI:
Precise lighting control and flexible configuration.
Ability to control multiple luminaires individually or in groups.
Ideal for large-scale lighting installations.
Push dimming
Push dimming is a simple and efficient solution where lighting is controlled via a push button. Some LED drivers come with built-in push dimming functionality,
ensuring smooth and reliable dimming from 0% to 100%.
Advantages of push dimming:
Intuitive and easy operation.
Minimal installation requirements.
Stable dimming performance without flickering.
