Just outside Copenhagen, influencer Frederik Haun and his husband, Morten Kjeldgaard, have created a home that reflects both their aesthetic sensibilities and their life as a growing family. The house feels calm and cohesive, yet full of warmth, a space where everyday life and design go hand in hand.

Light as the foundation of atmosphere

With large windows and a bright garden room, natural light plays a defining role throughout the day. It shapes the mood and character of each space, shifting gently from morning to evening.

“Light is essential in our home. During the day, we have this soft and lively natural light, while in the evening, the lighting needs to take over and create calm, warmth and a sense of togetherness,” Frederik explains.

“For us, it’s all about balancing functionality with atmosphere.”

A calm and lived-in interior

The interior is intentionally simple, built around warm tones, tactile materials and subtle textures. Rather than striving for perfection, Frederik and Morten have focused on creating a home that feels both aesthetic and lived-in.

“We’ve created a common thread through muted colours and materials, but there’s still room for personality and everyday life,” Frederik says.

“After having children, it’s become even more important that our home feels good to live in, not just to look at.”

Their home reflects this balance, refined yet relaxed, curated yet deeply personal.

“Nuura’s lamps bring a sense of calm and elegance into our home. They work both as lighting and as sculptural elements. We especially love how the light becomes soft and comfortable, it really
supports the cosy, warm feeling we want to create.” Frederik shares.
