NOMAD WORKSPACE, DENMARK

Nomad Workspace is located in a former courthouse building at Skt. Hans Torv in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, and offers 2,500 m2 of professional workspace, combining private offices, open-plan office areas, work lounges, a café, common areas, meeting rooms and event spaces.

Nuura has been responsible for creating evocative lighting in Nomad Workspace's lobby area, where their chandeliers provide a welcoming atmosphere. In the new dining area, carefully selected design elements contribute to the pleasant and comfortable ambience Nomad wishes to create for its members and visitors. As you wander around exploring the common areas, you will also find Nuura's lamps providing pleasant lighting in several of the lounge-type seating and working areas.

The courthouse was designed and constructed by Bindebøll's design studio in 1848 - "and as such, we felt an obligation to respect the history of the building and the focus on architecture," says Hans Peter Hertz, who was responsible for developing Nomad Workspace.

With the help of architect Natalia Sánchez, Nomad Workspace opened its doors in 2016. They jointly created a Scandinavian take on the international shared workspace concept: modern and colourful, yet understated.

Nomad Workspace is a workplace for creative businesses and entrepreneurs, and its interior design is intended to foster a creative environment. At Nomad they endeavour to respect and, to the best of their ability, retain the stylish lines of the building, open up the façade to visitors and optimise the interior of the building for future use by adapting the fantastic structure and architecture for a broader target group of members and outside visitors with a focus on making day-to-day working life a lifestyle experience.

At the end of 2019, Nomad Workspace began updating the common areas, adding a new café, an outdoor terrace and a dining area. As part of this makeover, Nomad Workspace invited Nuura to come up with new lighting for several spaces, focusing on the areas open to the public and visitors.
